Where do I belong?

![]() Hi, I'm back people (: Today is a boring day! I went to attend this MOOGAS's "Makan" Event with Weishan in the evening. It is basically some offshore socializing event which Capt Chatur cheated us to go. O'well, usually I don't like to attend any course-related socializing event but since I'm already in my 3rd year, sometimes I just can't say no. Other than the food, I think I enjoyed NOTHING. It is really like what we always see on television. A certain class of people suits a certain level of event. To be honest, this kind of event don't suit me at all. Holding on to a glass of wine or a bottle of beer with you wherever you go, chatting with strangers and laughing with acquaintances is just not for me. People always says what I am studying can earn big bucks but I don't think so at all. It is true that shipping stands a majority in a country's economic but it doesn't mean that I will earn big bucks if I stay in this industry right? Like one of the captains who gave the speech said,"Studying offshore doesn't mean that you will be able to get into the offshore industry". It is the same for me here, studying Maritime Business doesn't mean that I will earn more when I graduate. I don't know if my logic make sense to you but it definitely make sense to me. Sometimes I wonder where will I be in another 5 years' time. A lot has been asking about what I want to do after I graduated, seriously I have no idea. My dream from young is to have my own cafe, where my family and friends can visit. When there is festival, they can come over to celebrate and have fun. Eventhough it is just a dream but I don't think it is impossible. Definitely, I wouldn't want to put what I have studied to a waste. At times, it is really difficult to put your dream and reality together. Isn't it? What about you? |
